Former queens from 1965 to 2015 invited to share their memories and organisers seek to recruit girls to fulfil special role in 2016 The hunt is on to find all 50 of Barnstaple's most recent carnival queens - and also to find a new queen for this year's carnival. Former queens are being asked to get in touch as part of a major exhibition about Barnstaple Fair being held at the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon from July 23 until September 24. Museum education officer Julian Vayne said: "As part of our exhibition we'd love to include some 'then and now' pictures of former carnival queens.
