MORE than A 100 million pounds worth of damage could be caused to homes and businesses in Barnstaple over the next 100 years if nothing is done to bolster the town's flood defences. That was the message given to members of North Devon Council's executive committee before the group agreed to commit to improving flood defences in the town by 2050.
