Thousands of people, locals and visitors, lined the streets of Barnstaple last night to see the colourful carnival procession make its way through the streets. The carnival was all part of Barnstaple's three day fair celebrations running from Wednesday, September 13, to Saturday, September 16. On Wednesday the town's great and good turned out for the annual fair proclamation at Barnstaple's Guildhall, the prestigious event was attended by the mayor, town clerk, chief executive of North Devon council, the chief of police and many other dignitaries as well as representatives from local businesses and organisations.
