Police have appealed for witnesses after a suspected arson attack set fire to a freshly harvested field behind Sowden Lane in Barnstaple on Friday evening at around 7.30pm. Fire fighters brought it under control but the same area flared up again on Sunday at around 2pm and took nine hours before the incident was brought to a close.
