PLANE: Following publication of a shot of an old aircraft taken by R L Knight, a professional photographer of Barnstaple, I asked if anyone recognised the background? Well, 91-year-old Bill Griffiths of Bideford rang me to say he distinctly remembers the plane landing opposite Appledore some time around 1938.
