FIREFIGHTERS from Barnstaple were sent to rescue a pigeon in Westward Ho! last night - but had to call a crew from Appledore to get the job done. Yesterday evening, two Barnstaple firefighters with an aerial platform responded to a call from the RSPCA requesting help with a pigeon that had got into difficulty in netting atop Kipling Terrace.
